Cannabutter Recipe

This cannabutter recipe is quite simple to follow. However, unless you enjoy the taste of cannabis, try to match it with savory dishes while cooking with cannabutter to mask the taste. To make a fantastic chimichurri dressing, combine London Cello cannabutter, red wine vinegar, fresh chopped parsley, garlic, fresh chilies, dried oregano, and salt & pepper.

While food and bud mixing isn’t rocket science, one simple approach is to pair marijuana strains with comparable flavors: imagine funky and earthy strains like Bubba Kush with mushroom dishes. If you want lighter, zestier citrus terpenes, pair them with zippy tart sauces.

Cannabutter Caveats

Before you begin making cannabutter, keep the following things in mind:

  • THC contents vary dramatically between strains. Ideally, the dispensary where the marijuana was purchased will reveal the THC concentration of its product. If not, make sure you at least know the strain, and then look up how much THC content the strain typically has online.
  • The greatest products are first “decarboxylated,” which means that the dried cannabis is baked at a low temperature until the THC is activated and available. Cooking the weed without first decarboxylating also works – the heat activates the THC when you make the cookies. However, Decarbing is more efficient. THC is produced more consistently and in higher amounts than goods containing Undecarbed flowers.
  • Use yourself as a guinea pig (it’s difficult, but someone has to do it). Regardless of how meticulously you dial in the dose, your products will almost certainly never match the precision dosing of dispensary products.
  • Between the decarboxylation process and home cooking, batches are rarely completely uniform. The idea is to get as near an accurate THC concentration as possible with each batch.
  • Always keep in mind that the THC level of the strain is critical. Our rules assume that your flower contains 10% THC, although it may contain closer to 20%. Understanding the THC concentration of the flower is critical; only then can you create baked items with fairly uniform dosages.

Making Cannabutter – Follow Simple Steps

The Decarbing process is one of the most crucial stages in our cannabutter recipe. This method helps you to extract the most power from the bud. It takes around 30 minutes to complete, but it is worth it.

If you do this on the stove in a pot without using an infuser machine, expect it to smell like weed. Making cannabutter isn’t easy, but it’s easy to learn now. You can use the procedure to create cannabis oils once you’ve completed it.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Butter (113 grams) or one stick
  • 2.33 grams of Ground Cannabis Flower

Instructions

  1. Decarboxylate First and foremost, decarboxylate your cannabis. The THC and CBD injected into the butter are activated during this procedure. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Fahrenheit. Using parchment paper, line a baking sheet. Cover your cannabis with aluminum foil after spreading it out on the parchment. Bake for 22-30 minutes, depending on the size of your oven. It should be mildly browned and aromatic when completed.
  2. Infuse the flower into your butter. Infuse the bud and butter in a double boiler, slow cooker, decarboxylate device, or sous vide for 3 hours over low heat or 85C/185F.
  3. Using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, strain the liquid. “NOTE: To handle this material, use disposable cooking gloves and flexible spatulas. Because THC-infused butter can be absorbed through the skin, handling this item with your bare hands may result in an unpleasant experience.” (Korby, Chef)
  4. Place the finished cannabis-infused butter in a mason jar and refrigerate it. The intensity of the butter is determined by the THC and CBD content of your marijuana. Start with a teaspoon and adjust the dose to suit your needs.

Bear in mind

The yield for this recipe is 24 teaspoons. Do not overdose! Remember to use dosage per person/serving when medicating butter in a dish. If the recipe calls for more butter, use ordinary or extra virgin butter instead.

How to dose cannabutter

Edibles like cannabutter can be incredibly potent, and once you’re high, you’re committed for a long time. As a result, it’s critical to have a basic concept of how strong your edibles will be.

The THC content of the cannabis product used to manufacture the marijuana butter is the starting point for the computation. You’re probably aware of the maximum weed strength if you’ve grown your own. If it’s from a credible seller who knows what strain it is, look it up and go with the highest strength. If you don’t know, aim high and guess it’s 25% THC to be safe.

It’s also worth noting that we use trim and bud in our recipe. It is, however, extremely difficult to determine the THC level in trim. If you want to be specific, consider solely utilizing cannabis flowers. Alternatively, you may use the arithmetic as a rough guide and add as much trim as you wish!

Please remember that the arithmetic below assumes that your butter will absorb 100% of the THC in your pot, which it will not. But it will get the most out of it, so use this as a guideline.
