Joints can be put out. How? In this piece, we will cover methods in which you will learn how to put out a blunt or put out a cannabis joint made of good weed. So, let’s get started!

The Perfect evening.

Just imagine… You sitting on the couch and your loved one makes you a perfect joint. You light it up. After smoking half, you are already high and want to put out and save the joint for the next day. You do it. The next day you light it up but… it doesn’t taste the same. What happened??? Joint tastes like shit

Why do joints change their taste?

The chemistry of joints is very simple, once you light that bad boy, the weed reacts with oxygen in the air and the heat through the lighter and combustion occurs. Basic 8th-grade physics.

This smoke leaves out some by-products. These by-products are what cause the change in taste when the joint is relit. These products are called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). In one line, they are nasty. They are smelly, skunky, and too small to filter out.

These PAGs are created in everything that burns. Their rate of output differs depending on how a thing has been lit. So for example, if you’re doing dry herb vaping

in something like a Dynavap, then there will be lesser PAHs as compared to the good old weed joints.

The paper you use to roll a joint absorbs the skunky smell of the PAHs. Now when you relit the joint, these PAHs burn again and that is what causes the smell to emerge and the difference in taste. This is because although you might think it is only your tongue that does the tasting, surprise surprise, it is the nose too!

Putting out a cannabis joint

There are multiple ways to put out a joint. Here are some of the most famous ones!

  • Crushing

When we say crushing we do not mean smashing the joint against a wall. What we mean is that you can lightly stub a joint against a hard surface until the fire gets extinguished. Once this happens then you can check if it has extinguished by taking a drag.

  • Dislodging

If you knock the ‘fire ball’ of the joint with your fingers, then you can extinguish the joint

  • Cutting

Cutting is considered to be an extreme form of extinguishing a cannabis joint. One advantage of this method is that the negative smell from PAHs doesn’t remain and the joint is as fresh as a newly rolled one.

  • Wetting

You can put the tip of a lit joint in water for a second. Through the capillary action, the paper will absorb the water and the cannabis joint will be extinguished. We don’t recommend this method as it renders the joint unusable for quite some time and generally wrecks the texture

What are the benefits of smoking a cannabis joint?

There are many benefits of a weed joint. First of all, the tobacco in the joint works as a filter, which means that marijuana smoke is less harsh on your lungs. Secondly, the joint is simpler to wrap than a pure marijuana cigarette, and it burns more evenly, so you receive a more steady dosage of THC.

Finally, the cannabis joint is less likely to give you a couch lock than a pure marijuana cigarette, so you can still operate properly after smoking one.

Overall, the benefits of smoking a pot joint outweigh the downsides. If you want to smoke marijuana but don’t want to go too high, then a cannabis joint is a wonderful alternative.

How to roll the perfect joint every time

In order to roll a cannabis joint, you will need the following materials:

  • 1 gram of marijuana
  • 1 rolling paper
  • 1 filter (optional) (optional)
  • 1 pair of scissors

Step 1: Start by crushing up your cannabis using a grinder or your hands. If you are using a grinder, insert the cannabis in the grinder and spin it until the weed is crushed up into little bits. If you are using your hands, just split the cannabis up into little bits with your fingers.

Step 2: Once the cannabis is mashed up, take the rolling paper and drop the weed in the center of the paper. If you are using a filter, position the filter at one end of the paper.

Step 3: Begin wrapping the paper up, being careful to tuck the marijuana in as you go. Once you reach the end of the paper, lick the adhesive strip and seal the seam.

Step 4: Use your scissors to snip the extra paper off of the joint, and then use your lighter to ignite it. Enjoy!
